‘Kleinood’ is het tweede album van Sam Joris (Sam Joris octet, Fela Kuti Celebration
Band) en Wout Gooris (Vliegwerk, Festi, Sam Joris octet). Acht composities elk geïnspireerd door iets of iemand. Intiemer dan voorganger ‘Jogo’ en ook meer beïnvloed door 20ste eeuwse klassieke muziek. Een warme trompet-klank in combinatie met eigenzinnig pianospel, zorgt voor een krachtige symbiose die alle uithoeken van het emotionele spectrum verkent. 20u00

Alexander Hawkins is widely recognised as one of the UK’s most innovative and imaginative pianists and composers.
Alexander is self-taught with a great love and deep knowledge of the jazz tradition which he brings, along with classical references, to his compositions and improvisations. In May 2025 he released his third solo album Song Unconditional on Intakt, following the 2019 Iron into Wind, also on the Intakt label. |

A musical creation based on the theme of the labyrinth.
The uncommon instrumentation (two soprano saxophones and a piano) evokes a sound that is both ancient and modern. The labyrinth is a sinuous, tortuous path, full of false leads and a source of endless promise. Is the truth to be found at its supposed center? Or does it simply lie in the never-ending quest for a solution? Once solved, if we could retrace the unforeseeable route taken to reach its center, we would see only a straight line. Yet we must lose ourselves in order to finally find our way, to find ourselves, because the answer lies within each of us. |

In mei 2026 brengt Vanessa haar nieuwe album The Secret Vault uit met het Vanessa
Matthys Quartet. Met hun veelgeprezen mix van hedendaagse jazz, traditionals en tijdloze popklassiekers, allemaal in een uniek jazzkleedje. Met Dominique Vantomme aan de piano, Werner Lauscher op bas en Geert Roelofs op drums brengt ze een internationaal kwartet (BE/D/NL) samen, waarbij de stem centraal staat op een manier die werkelijk uniek is in België. Er is ruimte voor storytelling en beklijvende melodieën, maar ook voor virtuoze thema’s en improvisatie. Vocale jazz waarin lyriek en improvisatie hand in hand gaan - geworteld in de jazztraditie, maar reikend naar de klankwerelden van E.S.T., Gretchen Parlato en Kurt Elling. Intiem en verfijnd, maar tegelijk krachtig en energiek. 20u00
